Indian Wedding Bindis

Bindis are an attractive option for Indian brides to wear and can carry some significance. I tried to find out more about why Indian brides wear bindis.

Why does the Indian bride wear a bindi? The bindi is worn by Indian brides as confirmation of their status of being married. This is why the bindi is worn after the wedding, to let everyone know, the bride is now a wife and married.

Bindis are placed on the forehead in between the eyebrows, a point believed to be a pressure point in Ayurvedic belief, controlling the nervous system.
